Chances for an EA applicant! This is one of my top choices!!

Hi guys!

I am most likely applying EA.

I am pretty involved in the community and school so that is definitely something I am confident I have been highlighting well in my applications in a unique way. I also just retook the ACT today, and I'm not sure how I did, but I also signed up for October just in case. I hope to improve my score, but do give me thoughts even with my current score as well.

Stats:
GPA: ~3.8 (top 4% ranking at a very large public school, extremely rigorous course load)
ACT: 28 (hope to improve, just retook today and did sign up in October as well)

Goals: I want to get into the business field/finance/entrepreneurship space

Extracurriculars:

Published a book available at local bookstores and pretty big online platforms (think Amazon, Barnes/Nobles).

Founded the first ever entrepreneurs organization for students in our community which has been pretty successful. I organized some cool speakers and we have been featured in some pretty big media publications.

Interned for a summer at a congressional office

Interned for a summer in social media at pretty cool start-up (this inspired a lot of my interest in entrepreneurship)

Ranked among the top five young women in the state through a national organization

Represented as a delegate at Girls State

President of Student Council (this is a huge time commitment as our school, and I have definitely been moving up the ladder quite a bit here. Fortunately, our school principal will be writing one of my recommendations so I am confident she can highlight my contributions pretty well).

Served on council for Principle's advisory committee, launched/led a few unique student committees for our school programs, recreated our website.

Graduating from an internationally recognized dance program

NHS, MHS, DECA.

My major concern really is my ACT score...standardized tests have always been pretty hard for me and I am doing my best to hopefully improve this.

Do you recommend I just apply ASAP with my current score or wait it out until October? Any feedback is really valuable and I appreciate it! Thanks so much guys!

thoughts??

Interesting EC. Where is your home state and what is your intended major?
Your ACT is rather low though as the mid 50 for admission this year is 30-33.

Thanks for your comments! I am from the midwest (not Michigan). I will be applying to LSA, but hope to transfer to Ross after the following year.

I realize my ACT is on the lower end, and I did retake it this past month, but I’m not sure how I did just yet. I also signed up for it in October, but I just thought I’d see what my chances at status quo…

I am planning to apply EA.

Your GPA is slightly below admission average but your class rank is good. Do you have access to your school’s Naviance data? For ACT, what is your current practice score? Don’t just retake the test, but do a lot of practice in between. As oos student, ACT 28 and GPA 3.8 would make UMich a reach for you for LSA.
