Chances for an indian student at MIT

Perhaps you should do some more research. Although we can provide you with answers, I think you should take some responsibility in your applications. You do seem confused. However I will say that although you are a very very weak applicant for MIT even using your TOEFL and subject tests, your chances are 0% if you do not apply at all. Sure, you live in a small village, etc but that doesn’t completely excuse you from achieving outstanding extracurriculars. Considering you can “easily” afford $55K a year, I’d assume you were pretty well off. Very small amount of internationals get into top tier colleges.

I am a certified data scientist and cyber security expert. Does this help.? Also an certified ethical hacker. Will this improve my chances in CS?

Not really. Your SAT/ACT are so far below the line that this sort of extra stuff will not matter.

Its great and it will matter, but more for rU Maryland cs.

I’ve been to small villages in India. They are pits how is it that you are from a small village and yet have parents who can pay $55,000/year?

@Pizzagirl I live in small town and my father is a businessman. I live in Gujarat where almost everyone is wealthy.

Will it affect my chances if a boy from Delhi(metropolis) has a few ecs greater than me?

Where shall I show the admission officers that I went to other cities about 200 miles away in order to give AP ,SAT AND SUBJECT TESTS?

I have decided I shall apply with
2400 on sat2
115 on TOEFL to MIT
And letters of recommendationa from Harvard ,MIT and Stanford professors.

Is it correct desicion ?

What is the significance of promotion mails by universities. Some of the universituniversities send a dozen in a day. Does this symbolise that I am a good match for those?

Huh?

@jainul98 promotional mails are mostly for information and advertisement; while they can be useful, don’t apply to XX university just because you saw an ad.

BTW, SAT II scores are not out of 2400 - they are reported as separate scores.

@MITer94 I have 800 on physics math and chemistry
Shall I apply to MIT?

Of course, apply. But apply to many other schools since perfect scores won’t guarantee anything. As an Indian boy applying to MIT your odds are likely 1in 100.
the brochures are promotional material -use then to discover new universities you might like.

@jainul98 of course, you can apply. But subject test scores are only a minor part of the application, since it’s so competitive internationally.

@MYOS1634 okay . will having the recommendations from MIT and Harvard professors increase my chances? And around 10 university certificates?

Professors : only if they know you well and in a supervisotary capacity - teacher , employer …
there. are thousands of Indian applicants and only about 6-8 will get in.

@MYOS1634 They taught me

Do the adcoms know ISC(Indian School Certificate) or they just compare it with CBSE.
