I realize a lot of weight is put on portfolios, but the Rhode Island School of Design (my top pick) has a really high academic standard, and Northeastern University is still a mystery to me. MassArt is a safety school, I think.

Any thoughts? Colleges I should be considering? Thanks.

Art Schools don't care about your stats. No matter how good your academics are, you won't get in if they don't like your portfolio. Academically your better than the average for Rhode Island School of Design. That's all I can say. We'd have to see a portfolio to let you know if you'd be in or not.
But besides that, based on your academic achievement I would recommend you look into Carnegie Mellon. They have one of the best programs for graphic design, I think top 5, which includes art schools, and I was even considering applying just because graphic design was a second major I'd pursue, but in the end I stuck to schools with fashion design.

Another school that would probably be good for graphic design is University of Michigan. That's another school with a strong graphic design program, and anotehr school I would have applied to.

Art schools you might want to look at include, Parsons, Pratt Institute, School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and UCLA are other schools I forgot to mention.

Thanks so much for the input...I've heard of Carnegie Mellon, but I was always led to believe it was a big science/tech school, rather than a strict art college. I'll have to rethink it now. :)

Anyone with ideas regarding Northeastern?
