Chances for BC

I'm a Junior and I just got back from a short college visiting trip. BC was the first college I looked at, and I pretty much fell in love with it. BUT then I looked at the waitlisted thread on the BC section on this site....and I'm really, really scared now, because people WAY more qualified than me (in my opinion) were waitlisted. I'm not sure if it's really possible to give me an idea of how qualified I am, and I know that it's a crapshoot getting into BC given the amount of applicants they get, but if anyone could maybe let me know if I'm going in the right direction or if it's obvious that I don't have a chance, I'd appreciate it. :)

Grades:
-My classes have gotten increasingly challenging; I started with one Honors class in Freshman year, now I'm in all Honors/AP/IB classes, and I'm in the IB program.
-My GPA (all unweighted) was a 3.9 in 9th/10th grade, but unfortunately it has gone down this year (probably because of IB) 1st marking period I got a 3.8, and 2nd and 3rd a 3.7.
-I got a 208 on the PSATs, which would translate into a predicted SAT score of 2080 BUT I did really well on both of the english sections (73, 80), and pretty poorly on the math section (55). I'll be getting my SAT scores next Monday, and I'm pretty sure my math score went up a bit thanks to a course I took.

Extracurricular: (This is the part I'm really worried about, because I am not super active and haven't won awards in the clubs in which I participate.)
-Debate Team 10, 11, (I'm going to be on it next year as well)...5-10 hours a week during the fall/winter, which is debate season.
-Science League 9, 10, 11 (same as above)...4 times a year the schools in the surrounding area take tests in a certain type of science, so it's not something that meets regularly)
-Self-Defense/Martial Arts Club all years....BUT it meets really irregularly as well.
-I plan to join the Spanish Honors Society next year...unfortunately, no one was allowed to join this year because they were "revamping their invitation qualifications," thus making it impossible for our class to be in it both Junior/Senior year...grr.
-I've worked as a vet assistant/vet's receptionist since 9th grade and probably will until I go to college....about 3-10 hours per week, depending on how busy it gets.
-I'm not sure if this is EC, but I'm attending a 3.5 week summer camp at Penn State and I'll be taking courses (not for credit) in Pre-calc, creative writing, and debate.

Other Stuff:
-I've lived in Ecuador for a year when I was 9, then later was invited to travel to England, Russia, and then France on educational trips. These all have really had an influence on how I see the world, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to incorporate these things into an essay, if possible.

If you're still reading this, please let me know your first impression as to whether or not I sound like someone who should be seriously considering BC. Thanks!

your credentials sound pretty solid to me. My cousin was wait listed for BC too. at least you beat him! LoL.

Thanks for the reply! But I haven't even applied yet, so I don't know how I "beat" your cousin...?

Oh, one more question: My debate team as a whole won some awards, and since I was a part of it, would I still be able to list those awards on my application? Because it's not like I won them all by myself, although maybe that doesn't matter.

What type of school do you attend? Private or public?

I go to a public school. It's got a very good reputation, but I don't think it's THE best or anything. If it matters, I'm a white female from NJ.

I think I should just move to South Dakota or something and apply from there...the competition would be much less fierce!

Bump! Any more opinions?

Bump one last time. :o

Don't be worried. People with similar stats as you have gotten into Harvard and even MIT and Caltech.
