chances for big 10 schools

alright what are my chances at these schools, also which ones are my safety/match/reach

Michigan, UW-Madison, Penn State- University Park, Indiana

stats are a 3.49 uw, with decent amount of aps/honors

SAT is a 1260, 560 cr, 700 math (550 writing)

good ecs/essays/recs

also i want to go into business so what other schools would be matches for me??

why don't you look into purdue and ohio state as well?

what state are you from? if you are applying to university of michigan out of state, you might be out of luck (and too late- its rolling).

definitely give The Ohio State University (top 60 US News ranking) a look even though it will probably be out of state as well.

i live in ohio, what are my chances for the schools i listed, i cant go to ohio state b/c i hate ohio state and my dad is Michigan allum

bump, anyone?

In @ Indiana, PSU, and for sure in @ OSU

what about Wisconsin?

You're looking smartly - at programs strong in your major.

Are you in-state at Michigan or Wisconsin? Did you apply already? Were you deferred there? Michigan and Wisconsin are nearly the same in admissions, so if you get in one, you're likely to get in at the other.

Your grades are low as well as test scores against your competition at Michigan and Wisconsin. I don't think you're going to be awaiting an acceptance, unless your grades senior year are great. Look for a deferral at both places, and your senior year grades will either shift it to an acceptance, or a rejection.

Indiana is a FANTASTIC business school. It's #11 in the country, #2 in the Big 10, and you should be able to get in, with possibly some scholarships there. Penn State is a great business school to. Basically, you can't go wrong with Big 10 business, as all are ranked in the top 25 for business.

Okay, I just read you were from Ohio. It would be stupid not to apply to Ohio State, it's a fantastic school, and tuition is a bargain for you. Make sure your school of choice is strong in your major of choice. I live in Ann Arbor, I know hatred for OSU. And even I considered the school, and my guidance counselor told me it'd be the perfect fit for me. (But I didn't apply, haha). Apply there as a backup plan, shoot for upper tier business schools (not UM and UW, they are reaches for you).

Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, OSU, PSU, and MSU would be schools i'd recommend for you.

One thing to mention is that while I agree basically 100% with the above poster, is Michigan and Wisconsin calculate GPA differently. Michigan treats + and -'s different AND drops freshmen year. Therefore, two students with similar weighted stats might have different results. Also, class rank is huge for both.

My Michigan gpa is a 3.25, Wisconsin GPA is a 3.49

My test scores are low for Wisconsin??? isnt 1260 the average?

and ohio state is out of the question

deferred from Michigan

by the way school doesnt report class rank

With the new SAT, I do not know. It's average. Your GPA is below 3.7 average and it's late in the game. You have a shot

is Wisconsin looking at writing this year?

pretty sure

Wisconsin in a reach. Look at Iowa too for another safe match.

is that Wisconsin IS a reach, or Wisconsin is in reach

Is a reach. According to their website percentages, you have about a 50% chance of admittance. I wouldn't say it's a match, 50-50 chances aren't a match.

And I don't think Michigan's chances are any better. UM GPA far too low for an OOS applicant. Likely around 25% there.

Yeah is a reach.
