Hi. I have finished all of my applications for Choate Rosemary Hall, Deerfield Academy and the Hotchkiss School and I find out if I made it in soon.
My cousin currently goes to Hotchkiss and she says I have a pretty good chance because I am well rounded and have good grades. I also did pretty well on my ssat scores and had a great interview for all three schools. I am still worried though that I may not make it and I was wondering is this good enough? I run track and field and do javelin I play volleyball and soccer and many other sports too. I play the musical instrument the tuba and sing aswell and i take drama inside and outside of school and I do a bit of community service. So my main question is, do I have a good chance because I know there is nothing I can do but I would rather have low standards :/ thank you

the info you gave us is very vague. What are your grades? You ssat score? How were your recommendations? etc.

Can you speicfy how long you have been doing these extracurriculars? Im not going to say your chances because I have seen so many great applicants with as good as an application as you, rejected. Are you full pay? how are your essays

I do not need financial aid. My ssat scores were 77 percentile overall. I have been playing these sports for a while and I have mostly A’s. My essays were pretty good since english is one of my strongest subjects and the recommendations are also pretty well done since my teachers and I have pretty strong discussions etc. I also take part in several clubs at school like the school newspaper, Model United Nations, The Baking Club and Senior Band, but would the legacy thing help? because my cousin says that I have a pretty good chance and says i shouldn’t worry but I am and I am just stressing.

SSAT score might set you back, but you have a variety of ECs which is good. Your commitment to them is important however.

I think youre ok, but what sets you back is the fact that you are a late applicant.

oh i applied way before but thank you for your help! that makes me feel a lot better even if their is still a chance of me not getting in :)

Aaaaa okk than yeah you’re fine hahahahaha

@zoed123 what grade are you applying to? Im am also applying to Hotchkiss and Deerfield to 10th grade

i am to for sophmore year!

I hope your mention of being a “legacy” doen’t refer to your cousin.

You’re a legacy if a direct ancestor (parents, grandparents) are alumni.

If helps if you have a sibling presently enrolled. But cousins confer no advantage.
