Chances for Class of 2021

My daughter will be applying to Georgia this fall. (Illinois resident). She has a 3.7 UW/4.46 W GPA (UGA GPA 3.83). ACT: 26 (Superscore 28 - English/Math superscore 29) she will retake the ACT in September. She is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society; Math Honor Society; English Honor Society; History Honor Society; Future Health Professionals of America; Student Council; Students Against Drunk Driving; 2 year Varsity Captain of her dance team; 4 year Varsity dancer; 7AP classes the rest are all honors classes; peer mentoring, athletic leadership council; over 100 volunteer hours at local hospital. Hoping to major in neuroscience.

Chances??

Should be good

I would think her chances would be good as well. As you know, you will not get any merit aid from UGA. It is super competive. But, coming from Illinois, a southern school may be a bargain for you even at full price. My UA son’s girlfriend is from Chicago and he has several friends from that area as well. We joke that there are more Illinois kids there than Alabama ones!

If she got her ACT score up this past time taking it, she’d be a great candidate! UGA looks at GPA to test scores on a 3:2 ratio, so GPA (which they recalculate on their own scale) is more important. However, the average EA ACT last year was a 31. UGA decisions are very unpredictable. Good luck!
