My situation concerning my GPA is a little bit weird. After 8th grade, I switched into public school and got terrible grades, a 3.2. After that year, I was skipped ahead to 11th grade. In eleventh grade, I got better grades. My public school will not integrate my 4.0 GPA from 8th grade (which was all high school classes) and earlier into my cumulative GPA.

I'm not sure how I will present it when I apply or how the colleges will look at it. The principal of my school has included a personal recommendation for me that explains my situation and how to view the other school's grades.

Also, I'm applying to UPenn's Jerome Fisher M&T program.

Any opinions?

I think you can get in where ever you want.

Oh yea - if it helps, my main CA essay was about my TI-83+.

I keep feeling like I'm leaving stuff out.

I didn't mention (here) that I had a computer construction and support company and did web design for companies.

How do you write about your calculator.. I'd love to read something like that!

You have good chances, btw.

I don't know it's some what iffy. Your GPA is really low for Stanford average (4.0). But then again Stanford looks more at the character of the person than his academic records. I believe you have a decent shot at Stanford if you wrote a good essay and show that you are unique in some way. I'm applying to Stanford RD and I have about the same stats as you except you ACT score is higher than mine. I think its just luck when it comes to Stanford and a lot of the ivy leagues.

Castel, want to see the essay? You can tell me what you think.

Ring the alarum bell! Murder and treason!

The colleges you are looking at are more holistic which is a + for you.
GPA is low.
You're in but its always a crapshoot with those schools.

Sesquipedalian, I love your username, though I myself am hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobic.
