Chances for Computer Science (OOS)

Hey guys, I was considering applying here. What do you think my chances are?

I am a hispanic male from New York.

GPA: 3.4 unweighted.
-My highschool is one of the most vigorous in the nation, in the top 100 for most prestigious public and private high schools (I go to a public school). So grade inflation is completely non existent, I can't stress this enough. Our valedictorian (out of 1500 students) has a 3.9 My school doesn't rank students, but I would guess top 25% if I had to.

SAT: 2050 - 650 R - 800 M - 600 W

ACT: 31 Composite

I have taken 4 APs during my high school career:
AP Comp Sci AB
AP European History
AP American History
AP Biology

Extra Curriculars:
-National Hispanic Scholar Award (Honorable Mention)
-Assistant teacher in my school's intro to computer science class. I am currently the only student in my school (and district) to be doing a teaching role like this.
-Varsity Football
-Various overseas voulenteer works. ~100 hours

I also have very strong recommendations, especially from my computer science teacher. Who recieved two masters from Carnegie Mellon. He basically feels i am one of the most ambitious students he has ever come accross (at least in the field of computer science)

Hey, you also posted this on the U-Mich one too!

I think you got a pretty good shot. Plus you’re Hispanic, so that should increase your chances.

Thanks, I hope so too. Anyone else have any comments? haha

You have a better shot by being out of state with your test scores than if you were instate where all they’d care about is your rank.

It will really depend upon how many spots are taken up by the top 10%ers, and you may not know about admission until spring.

Good luck!
