- Calculate your UC/CSU GPA’s and post the Unweighted UC GPA, Capped Weighted UC GPA= CSU GPA and Fully weighted UC GPA.
https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
UC’s and all the CSU’s except SLO used 10-11th grades. For SLO, use the same calculator and add your 9th grades to get your SLO GPA.
-
UC’s tend to be very GPA focused but your test scores are on the low side especially Math if you plan to purse a CS major, I suggest your retake the SAT and consider all taking the SAT Math II subject test to bump up your chances.
-
Race/Ethnicity is not considered in UC/CSU admission decisions. First generation however will be a consideration.
-
CSU’s except SLO, admit by major and eligibility index. Once you have your capped weighted CSU GPA calculated plug in your CSU GPA and test scores into this formula: (CSU GPA x 800) + (SAT Math + EBRW) which equals your EI and post your result.
-
For SLO, they use MCA points and admit by major. CS has about a 5% acceptance rate with an average SLO GPA of 4.21 and SAT of 1481. MCA calculator: https://mca.netlify.com/
Since the CSU’s do not accept LOR’s or essays, you will be admitted basically on your stats only for the CSU’s.
-
If you are local to any of the CSU’s, then you do get priority so the bar will be lower. Here is the CSU service area’s: https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/freshman/documents/csulocaladmission-serviceareas.pdf
Consider Cal Poly Pomona instead of SLO along with CSU Long Beach, East Bay and some of the other non-impacted CSU campuses for some solid target/safety schools.
-
UC’s tend to be very GPA focused but again your test scores will be an issue. CS also happens to be one of the most selective majors at all the UC’s, but having extenuating circumstances such as your Asperger/Autism can be addressed in one of your personal insight essays and your EC’s show you knowledge/passion for your intended major.
Here is some UC statistical data again for 2018 and not major specific. CS will require above average stats. UCI will be a tough admit. UCR and UCSC are definitely possible especially if you can bump up your SAT scores.

UCSD: 4.16
UCSB: 4.13
UCI: 4.13
