Actually, black people r a minority but that wont ensure u getting into Harvard. It would though work as a benefit were u to have over 730-740 in ur sats. U have no chance unless u improve ur scores or unless u r a wonder-kid or a genious and u r gonna amaze them during the interview with ur wit and brilliance...

No chance?? I'm sorry, but I don't agree; I don't think anyone here really knows that. The OP qualified for the "National Achievement Scholarship Program", meaning he/she is African American, i.e. URM. That won't be a major factor, but it could be a tipping factor.

To the OP: Your scores are low (for Harvard), but it's too late now to retake for SCEA. Your ECs/awards are pretty good. GPA/rank looks very good. Based on this info, I'd say you probably won't get in... BUT if your essays were awesome, and your recommendations were great, you definitely have a chance. But please realize that nobody on these boards can accurately predict Harvard admissions. Just know that you DO have a chance, and try not to stress over the Dec. 15 decision. Good luck.

Why does everyone on here seem to hang on SAT scores? It has been proven that they are a poorer assesment of freshman performance than GPA, and fair enough, the SAT scores aren't great, but a GPA or 4/4.6 is very strong. Some people aren't great at the silly tests filling in cirlces, but are still academically able and will do very well at a top college.

I'm not going to make a comment on your chances, becuase it is impossible to say. People are right in saying you scores are towards the lower end of the Harvard intake, but by no means equal a rejection. Maybe you'll get in, maybe you won't. We'll all find out in December.
