Here's the part that worries me: my weighted GPA is 3.7, and my school doesn't tell us our unweighted GPA. Since I've taken so many IB, honors, and AP classes, this could mean that my unweighted GPA might be too low for admission.

Which wouldn't worry me so much, except my SAT scores aren't that great... I got an 1840, which is nowhere near Kenyon's average.

What I hope will save me:
-My extracurriculars: Writing club (four years), Lit mag (three years, editor-in-chief this year), French club (four years; co-president the past two years,), Book club (three years)

-My awards/achievements: I've placed in the top 10% every year for the past seven years in a national French exam), and I've been selected in the top 15 of my school's slam poetry competition for the past few years. I also scored a 4 on the AP US History exam, and a 5 on AP Lang. and Comp. test.

-My summer experiences: Freshman-sophomore summer, I spent two weeks in New York for a writing program. The summer after that, I attended the Kenyon Young Writers Program (hopefully that will help!), and the summer after that, I spent a month in Switzerland studying French.

-My leadership experiences (maybe?): Link Crew (two years), which helps introduce freshmen to the high school with activities and such, mentoring a younger student once a week with her French (this year)

I'm getting my recommendation letters from my French teacher and my sophomore English teacher (she also advises the literary magazine and the yearbook, so she knows me pretty well), so those should be good.

Also, if it makes a difference, I go to a very competitive public high school. I'm half Indian and half white, and have a pretty complicated family situation (which was my grades were pretty low sophomore year, which brought my GPA down), and my guidance counselor is going to write about that in her letter. I'm also going to be writing my IB Extended Essay in French, so I'll be getting a dual diploma (hopefully!).

Sorry this is so long! Kenyon is my top choice, and I'd just really like to know my chances. Honest responses are appreciated :) Thanks!
