Wrote good essay about the collaborative, diverse environment and huge resources of UM. Also about how I lived in another country for a year when I was younger.

Is this a tr0ll post? You’ll get in. Diversity is pretty important

This is not a troll… I my HS doesn’t offer any science or math AP classes except APES and I didn’t take it. Also UMICH is a top 10 engineering school. Myhighschool is also not sending kids to big schools. Everybody last year stayed in state for college and the valedictorian went to Villanova. The salutatorian dropped out of college after a month!

What state do you live in? I think you should apply and describe the limits of what your school offers. Your SAT and GPA are competitive.

Best wishes and good luck. Let us know what happens.

Pennsylvania and thanks

It’s important in a general sense, but not important for admission to University of Michigan. It’s illegal to consider race or ethnicity in college admissions to public universities in the state of Michigan.

Going to a small HS (private?) will probably count more toward diversity at Michigan. You probably have a better chance at a top 10 school which does factor race in admissions ; high scoring black students are in high demand because there are so few. At Michigan your essays will matter most as you are slightly above median for engineering, but probably about average for OOS students.

Yes I got to a private catholic school
