Chances for Engineering?

So I have a:

Unweighted GPA: 3.5 (kinda low)
Top 10% of class
SAT: 2300
Reading: 720
Math: 790
Writing: 790
Math II: 800
Physics: 770
Chemistry: 750
Excellent EC's.
Excellent Letters of Rec.
Excellent Essay.

Where would you say I stand in the applicant pool for the College of Engineering?

Top 10% of class with a 3.5 unweighted is unusual, but SAT is great, so I’d say you’d likely be a match for any engineering other than the bioengineering program.

The 3.5 makes it iffy, but if that’s top 10% in your school I think you should be alright. Make sure that essay is excellent though, especially if you want to be in the running for scholarships.

LOL you consider yourself to have “excellent ECs”? Is this a joke? I would consider you to have weak ECs. And it your Columbia summer session rec is considered “excellent,” your regular teachers must really hate you.

Poor little Parthiv, so naive and misguided… I almost feel bad for you

Ketone, you’re a ******.

@161803 - You have no idea… This kids been stalking me for a month all over CC now.

What is GPA weighted? Also, do you have AP courses particularly in calc? A 3.5 unweighted does not actually sound low including because you are top 10%. If you have some APs such as calc with good grades then that along wth GPA and your SAT score makes your chances very good for anything other than bioengineering. Be aware that UIUC does not use SAT subject tests for admission. Even if you submit them, those who actually determine admission will not know they exist since they are not included in anything given to the reviewers. Moreover, UIUC does not want or use any recommendation letters…

Haha this is hilarious.
