Hello, I got accepted for EA, and I just applied for the Honors Program. And does anyone know how difficult it is to get/stay in Honors? I just know Honors students are required to take 2 Honors core classes and 3 "Honors Program Special Topics" courses. Can someone elaborate on the Special Topics courses? Perhaps describe some of the actual courses? The website is not very informative, haha.

Sorry to contradict, but the Honors is really selective. Just as hard as Presidential. They take like 100-50 students so it will be VERY difficult to get. Their website made it seem very academic based so i could not imagine anyone without over a 2300 getting it.

False. I am in the honors program and I have asked them about admission - they said it is mostly based on extracurriculars and if they find you an “interesting” person. They also take into account how motivated they think you are and how active they think you will be on campus in things like research and leadership.

Staying in honors is super easy. You just have to complete the coursework.

Special topics courses are very hit-or-miss… some are very interesting, some are three hours of Chinese history every Monday. Most are graded fairly easily, with most students coming out with an A or B. See [Georgia Institute of Technology :: Honors Program :: Current Students :: Courses](<a href=“Home Page | GT Honors Program”>Home Page | GT Honors Program) for the special topics courses offered this semester.

Thanks for the reply! Well that’s a relief, because I’m pretty sure I only got into EA because of my essay & personality, and not my scores haha!

Would anyone here happen to know if it would be tough to take 2 honors core classes (calc 2 and maybe english or physics) freshman year as a Common First Year (college of architecture) student? I heard CFY is very demanding
