Thanks, I chanced you back. Anyone else?

Obviously you are a very competent candidate… Definitely Ivy league worthy
Your personal statement is unique and your ECs are spectacular
I would say that your test scores will bring down your chances for all of the schools though…
Definitely Caltech/ Stanford material if you’re a Silicon Valley kid

Good luck!

Chance me back please: <a href=“Chance me for Gallatin? - New York University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/1699541-chance-me-for-gallatin-p1.html

@ImNYUobsessed Hey, thanks for the chance, and if you don’t mind, I have a question. What part of my test scores are low? And, I am retaking Math 2 in hopes of a 750+, and I’m taking Math 1 just because I love math so much lol…

Dont retake the SAT 2, I just didnt see your 3 ST 1 scores that’s all, and I thought CR 690 is just a bit of a blemish on an otherwise good application especially for the UCs and Ivy leagues…its very very competitive, so if you don’t get in/ get waitlisted anywhere, it’s probably because someone else had a perfect test score

Thanks, and the time is near. Bump!!!

Bumppppppppp

Update: Maintained the 4.0 unweighted gpa 1st semester of senior year (straight As through high school woot!!!), and my cumulative weighted gpa rose to 4.55!

Other stats are on first page. I will chance back!!!

You should do well and have a pretty good shot at any of these. That being said, the ivys are always a reach, even with stats as good as yours.

Chance me back?

You will definitely get into a top 20, I think you have an excellent shot at Ivy’s but if you want to even better your chances I would consider retaking the ACT or maybe taking the SAT if you think that is a better test for you and improving your score. I think you can get a 35 on the ACT. In the ivies, right now I think you are at like Cornell level, but if you are aiming for Yale or Harvard just work on those test scores. Your GPA Unweighted is perfect (obviously) and you take the hardest classes at your school, or at least a bunch of APs so I think you are golden in that area. The ECs are impressive and unique. That intern will definitely help. Overall I would just bump those test scores if possible. Best of luck! Chance back?

Thanks guys, but @mary17412 I cant retake any standardized tests, and I’m not submitting my ACT anywhere. Only the SAT, but is a 2280 really that low? :/

Oh I didn’t see that that was your SAT score!!! No that’s very good! Congrats

MIT has the best CS program by far. It isn’t an ivy, but in my opinion, it is better. Instead of being surrounded by liberal arts (which is completely pointless), you’re in the world’s center of technological advancement. You should definitely apply. Good luck!

Another update!!! 760 in math 2 (20 points higher this time) & 730 in math 1. Rest of my stats are on the first page. Fyi, got a 4.0 in first semester senior year, so straight As throughout high school!!!

I will chance back!!!

Dude, you’re set. I can see you not getting into some, and then getting into others simply due to the selectivity of the schools. Good luck! The only one I see you maybe not getting into (as others have said) is Harvard. And even there, I think you have a pretty good chance. As long as you have good supplementary materials, you should stand a great chance at all of those schools. I wish I could say the same for myself.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1722473-my-final-chance-thread-chances-at-uva-w-m-wake-forest-vcu-and-fordham.html#latest

I personally think you’re well rounded. I cannot say for a fact, but you will most likely get into at least one of those schools if your essays were good. Good luck!
UPDATE: Got into UC Riverside with 10k yearly Regents Scholarship (so 40k total)
Got into University of Minnesota and got email to apply for scholarship there, and (hopefully) will get at least some sort of merit scholarship there.
I was wondering if you guys could help ease my post-submission, close-to-admissions-dates anxiety by chancing me and letting me know where I stand. I know a lot of people have done this already, but after all, the point of a Chance thread is to gain an overall look and settle with something that a lot of people agree on. The thing is that I applied to 30 schools, and I feel as if I will not get into any of the Top 20s that I applied to… As such, I am quite nervous.
Oh, and I also got emailed to apply to UCLA’s Regents Scholarship, but did not receive Berkeley’s invite, or UCI’s Regents/CHP, if that adds some context to this. I have been especially anxious after not receiving UCI’s Regents/CHP because quite a few of my friends with just as high, or lower stats received it, and I feel as though that means my ECs, or essays are bad…
