Chances for Ivies, and Other Top 20's! I Will Chance Back

Hey guys! It took a while for me to write this, and it is more or less something I already had as a thread, but there was a bit of new information, and if I just kept adding those onto the comment section, it would just get too messy and hard to follow, so I am writing about it here. I'm sorry for making this another new one. The other one had way too many replies!

CONCLUSION:

This took me a great deal of time to write, and each opinion will be regarded with the utmost importance, and (have I mentioned this already) I would really really really appreciate any response. I would like to know which colleges would be a reach, and which wouldn't. Thanks!

Excellent to chance to most of those schools except Harvard (which is a reach for everybody), consider Stanford and Caltech (which may also be reaches) but excellent schools!

Chance back?

Are you sure about the computer science major? I see you got a 3 on the AP exam for computer science.

I think you have a good chance for the lower ivies (ie not harvard), but everyone should consider these schools reaches because of the extremely low acceptance rates. Make sure you spend a lot of time on the supplements and apply to some safety schools as well, good luck!

I think you have a good chance at all of these schools. People like you have been rejected and accepted to all of these schools. chance back please: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1710183-binghamton-syracuse-bu-chance-me-and-i-will-chance-back.html#latest</a>.

Great chance at Ivies except Harvard. Seriously, your stats will get you anywhere
Chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1701134-chance-for-uw-madison-new-test-score-will-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

I think you have a good chance for Dartmouth, Cornell, UPenn, Brown, Columbia, but Harvard, Yale, and Princeton are always reaches, especially if you are checking Asian as your ethnicity. I’d recommend that you really focus on Dartmouth because they have the best commuter science program for the ivys.

chance back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1711214-chance-me-please-will-chance-back.html?new=1</a></p>

I think you have really good stats and could honestly apply anywhere (just remember to have great essays). You have an amazing GPA with amazing course rigor

Thanks guys!
@blblbl I was sick that day, with sinus problems. That affected my testing ability. I wrote that down on the additional information section.

I think your chances are pretty good for most schools. HYPSM may be high reaches though
Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1710896-chances-for-getting-into-harvard-stanford-berkeley-penn-etc.html#latest</a></p>

Wow that’s some comprehensive information you gave!
I would say your chances are very good for probably the lower end of the top 20 and competitive for the higher end of the top 20. With that said, the ivies are so unpredictable it is ridiculous - you are definitely competitive but don’t put too many hopes on them as you never really can tell D:

Amazing stats, will probably get into most universities. High GPA/Sat/EC’s will get you in, but sometimes colleges are random so don’t be down if some don’t accept you.

You are a very well qualified applicant. There is very little space to find flaw in your stats and scores. The ivys are always reaches, however, they are all within your grasp, imo. Your essays will be very important. I am sure you will be able to get into some of your top choice schools .Good Luck.

Stats are good.

The thing is that the ECs are not really focused. (Tae Kwon Do to science club to key club to real estate to military defense systems to com. sci. major)

You defintely have a chance at the top schools.

Have you wrote your supplements yet? If not, try to explain your passion for computer science. (I can’t really see the passion in your ECs)

Still, I’ll be surprised if you don’t get into at least one of the Ivies.

I would expect you to be accepted at UC Berkeley and UCLA (in the top 20). Schools say they do not like to see more than 2 sittings for a standardized test, and ask that you take the most rigorous courses available, so things like not having AP Bio may not be super helpful at the private schools. Your courses are solid, but not over-reaching. Many top 20 applicants will have taken college courses, and will have done some state-wide or nation-wide ECs and/or won awards beyond the local high school level (city, or region wide, even), such as research in a local university, or for CS types even a city-wide Hacker day or Maker Faire.

You have great grades, and would be a solid candidate. Beyond TKD, have you really put yourself out there and competed outside the walls of your high school? What initiative and truly original contribution to the larger world can you claim? Many competing for spots at the top 20 schools have done so. How do you stack up against them?

I would say you could perform well at a top 20 school, but when they ask what you will contribute to the community of scholars/athletes/whatever, that will be your weakness. I would think carefully on how to address this in your letters of recommendation and in your essays.

Very solid! Congratulations on your hard work. Good luck!

First off, your grades are amazing. In my opinion, your test scores are a bit low for the upper end of the Ivies, but for the rest of them, they are sufficient. You have a really nice variety in your extracurriculars (yoga and Taekwondo? Pretty cool combination to me ^_^) and be sure to show your passion for them in your essays. I would say you have a decent chance at most of these top 20 schools.

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1711295-here-i-go-please-chance-me-for-some-top-schools-princeton-mit-and-more-wil-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

I think you are very well rounded! The combination of grades, scores, and excellent EC’s make the top 20’s/ivies match and high match except I think the most exclusive schools (Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Princeton) are probably low reach

Chance ? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1712273-ucsd-ucla-usc-nyu-uci-chance-please-will-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

you are competitive, you will be somewhere you like.

Bump because I need to see if it’s worth the money and time to apply to some of these schools! Help please!

Worth your time to apply. I would take the chance to apply to every school with your stats and EC’s. The upper Ivies are reaches for everyone, don’t be discouraged. You do, however, have a decent shot.

Chance back please:
