Essay: Still in the works of it. I was told that it displays my passion for band and leadership excellently, but I do not focus on myself enough. If I rewrite it correctly, it should be an awesome essay.

Recommendations: From the three best teachers I know.

I intend to double major in Political Science/International Studies and minor in Economics (if that's possible at JHU. I only decided yesterday that I might apply here, depending on my chances)

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it.

Bample Juice

You have a shot, and while your record is good, just about everyone applying will have similar stats. Everyone out there is applying to the same 15 schools

I’m only applying to eight, so… :P

But thanks.

God, I swear the prospective student pools get more awe-inspiring by the year. You’re in pretty good shape, as long as there’s nothing you’re hiding and you write a good essay. If you want to do IR, though, maybe you should consider writing a more topical essay towards that end.

Does JHU have you write an essay on your academic interests on their supplement? I was planning on writing about that there. And thanks for the reply :)

Yes, I believe they have to write about what your intended major (more your academic interests than anything) in your supplement. However, your inteded major can change and you aren’t locked down to anything (except if you want to do BME- but I believe you can transfer out of that if you feel compelled). It’s really easy to switch around here.

“Everyone out there is applying to the same 15 schools”.

Prolly not. With Harvard and Princeton brining back SCEA, more kids will more spots at colleges will be filled in the early round.

^^^Hm…that’s an excellent point…

lots of ecs! do you have a major focus in a few of them? i’ve heard that helps. and i think colleges will like the improvement in grades over the years. best of luck!

would you mind a chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1208240-chances-please.html
