<p>Well guys I really messed up bad. At my current school I was caught with marijuana and was issued punishments by the school and by the police. I am not going to have a charge on my record yet the school will still show that I was in trouble. Aside from that I have a very strong resume with a 3.8 last semester and a hopeful 4.0 this semester. Also I had a 1260 SAT and was previously admitted to JMU out of high school. My real question is how should I handle the charge? </p>

<p>I could not mark it on my form and if they didn't do a background check then it would be fine. However I don't want to be dishonest. I could also set up a meeting with them to explain my circumstances and explain it was a one time mistake, but I'm afraid that still might hurt me.</p>

<p>That is a problem. Maybe you should have a meeting with your principle to try to clear this from your records, but idk if it will work since the cops were involved.</p>

<p>Well I’m actually a college Freshman now. And I’ve talked to the dean and done all the stuff I need too for the school. However they can’t just take it off my record.</p>

<p>I’d say ur in but u should talk to admissions at jmu cause it’s better that u tell them rather then them finding out.</p>
