So what are my chances?

Hey freedom2succeed,

I’d be happy to roll through your stats. Before I go further, I recommend you take a look at the Class of 2016 profile. These are the stats of admitted Lehigh students, so you should try to compare your own stats against these:

[Lehigh University: Undergraduate Admissions: Lehigh at a Glance: Class of 2016 Profile](http://www4.lehigh.edu/admissions/undergrad/glance/profile.aspx)

GPA: Definitely a decent GPA, so far so good.

APs: You’ve got a challenging courseload so that’s good. You didn’t indicate which year you took/are taking each AP. Just keep in mind that Lehigh looks for the most challenging curriculum you could have taken at your school - they won’t hold it against you if your school didn’t offer a certain AP or you couldn’t fit it into your schedule.

ACT: Don’t worry about the writing section - Lehigh doesn’t look at it. The typical ACT range for Lehigh students is about 28-31 (without writing), so you’re right - you have some improvements to make there.

ECs: You’ve got a really impressive set of EC, so you’re fine here.

Showing Interest: Have you visited campus? I highly recommend you visit Lehigh, do an interview, and stay in contact as much as possible. Even if you’re in Illinois, you should still try to reach out to admissions - it make all the difference.

A semi-decent chance - but you could improve it with a better ACT score and by visiting/contacting Lehigh.

Best,

Thanks for the chance Mike. As for showing interest, i just did the diversity achievers program (DAP), so i think that is definitely showing interest in the school.

It’s great that you did the DAP program, freedom2succeed. That’s a really great way to show interest - definitely gives you an edge, and it certainly should increase your chances.

I still recommend you try another go at ACT - if you increase your score high enough in line with Lehigh admit averages, you should be fine. Good luck on your re-take.

Best,
