Chances for Macalester?

Not sure of my GPA, because my school doesn't really calculate it, but my grades have definitely been on an upward trend. 2150 on the SAT (1480 on the 1600 scale).

My first quarter grades this year:

English B+
AP Bio A
History elective on Poverty in the USA A-
AP Stats A-
AP Spanish A-

I have taken the maximum of 5 AP classes that my school allows, and I scored a 5 on both the AP World and AP US History tests. I have a 780 (US History) and 700 (Lit) on my SAT II's.

I am captain of both my school's baseball and basketball teams, class president, drummer in the jazz band. I do volunteer work over the summer at a summer camp for kids with life-threatening illnesses, and I have a summer job coaching little league baseball.

I am from NYC, and go to a private school.

I also have a unique family situation that may help my chances, but I'm not sure.

I am applying ED II---What do my chances look like?

I’m no authority, (just a parent of one present Mac student) but I think you have a good chance. Since your SAT scores are well within range, your grades will probably determine if you get admitted. My sense is that a strong GPA carries a lot of weight at Mac (although once you’re in, grades are not stressed). Write a great essay, and I think your chances are good.
