Ok, if I've left something else out post away to notify me. Please be open minded but honest. If you have any suggestions for other schools, again, message me :)

Thanks in advance!!!

I like your mix of schools. I think you will be in the running for all your schools, but I'm sure you realize that schools like Hotchkiss are a reach for everyone. I'll even go so far as to say that I think you have a good chance at Blair which has a strong basketball program, seems to be interested in building an even stronger arts program, and would like your community service. They have a swim team too.

We never considered repeating. Perhaps you could just let Admissions know that you are open to it if they believe it would be appropriate for you. Have you gone on tours? Good luck!

I've only toured MPS, and I loved it. Haha, as a matter of fact, my other username on here is Girl Meets World and I believe I have a thread going about my MPS interview :)

Of course, I love Miss Porters way to much for my own good.

When we did our tours, none of the schools allowed the applicant to sit in on a class. We had the opportunity to see some classes in action, but not to sit in on the entire class.

Because you loved MPS so much, you might want to consider Emma Willard & Westover. Others can comment on how they are relative to MPS.

Some schools just feel right when you visit. I'm glad you found a school you love so quickly.

Well, then again, the only school I could base my thoughts off of was Suffield. I bet there will be more I'll love as much, if not, more.

does anyone else have any opinions on wether or not I'll get in?

I would say based on kids that I know who have gotten accepted to some of those schools, that your chances are good. Hotchkiss is the unknown because it is a reach for pretty much everyone. But your grades and scores fit within the other schools.

As a side note, 2 of the 4 schools we have visited have offered us the opportunity to come to classes (prior to applying) and one has offered us the opportunity to spend the night in the dorm too.

What school let you sleepover?

Avon Old Farms. They even "advertise" it in thier view book.

**Woot! Report cards today! Western Civ is accually B+ however Personal Finance is a B-!

My thread is sinking. Thought I'd give it an extra bump :)

When are the rest of your visits scheduled?

The only places I've interviewed is Miss Porters and Suffield. I decided not to apply to Suffield.

Loomis, Westminster, and Blair are all in December. St. Georges is in Janurary and Hotchkiss has yet to be scheduled.

Your SSATs are a bit low, but those aren't definitely the most important part of an application. Stress your community service and extracurriculars because those are strong. Also, try to keep your grades to straight A minuses and As, because schools like that like to see a strong student. Your grades will drop if you go to a boarding school that's more challenging than your current school. A lot of your choices do sound challenging, but stress your enthusiasm for them. From experience, I had straight As and A minuses at my old school but I'm struggling to get a B in some classes like Math and Physics here. I'm doing well in English, History, and French though. Your strengths before you go to boarding school will translate to your life there.

If I get A's the 2nd quater, will the schools even see the report card? My semester ends the 15th on Jan. and applications are due by then in most schools, correct?

You look pretty good to me!!!

You've got some really great things going for you, especially all the community service!!!!

ad for the report card things. I'm sending my progress report with my quarter grades cuz my second quarter won't be out yet but this one will. so i would do the same thing if i were you, just ask the school for another transcript once you've got as close to a 4.0 as you can!!!!

Good luck, i really reall hope you get in!

Schools will see the scores. Your schools will send them once they receive them, regardless of the overdue. Most schools know this and expect it. That's what happened with my school. The key is to improve a lot the second quarter if you'd been doing less-than-spectacularly the first one.

:) I made the honor role today!!! How can I weave that into my application process? Should I put it under academic awards?

Yes. Congratulations!

Thanks Brighty!!

Ok, so my other post was about a bad grade in an elective and this one poster said that boarding schools would immediatley reject me if I had a C. She said theres no way for me to get in thanks to that and I should beg on my knees to my teacher for her to rasie my grade.

So, I think shes crazy. What does she know? Shes a 1st time applicant! Every other poster said that I should use this as a chance to show my improvement by sending, as talked about here, another updated transcript. Quite frankly, I think she is ridiculous and I'm looking for some backup. Is she right or am I?
