Hi everyone! I'm entering my senior year, & MSU is my #1 choice of college. I plan on majoring in dietetics. I was wondering my chances of getting into the school.

-I have a 3.0 gpa (bad, I know, but this past school year I hit rock bottom with a mental health issue, & my grades plummeted as a result. However, I'm on the mend, & I'm making sure my grades senior year will be back to my usual A's.).
- 27 ACT score (I plan on retaking it in Sep.)
- I've taken AP World, CP math all 4 years, honors English all 4 years, CP sciences, & worked in my school store.
- I'm in Student Council, was in NHS this past year (where my standings are in that now, I'm unsure), freshman mentor, drama club (president this coming year), ITS, & have 100+ community service hours.

I know that one of State's essay questions is along the lines of "If you feel that your grades to not reflect your academic potential, explain why". I plan on using that essay question, & feel that I have a valid reason.

I also plan on getting letters of recommendation from the following teachers:
- English/Speech teacher: I had her all year junior year, did well in both classes I had her for, and I got very close to her. She's the teacher who knows me the best on a personal basis, & I think can help validate my essay (she was there for me throughout the year with my problems).
- Biology teacher: I had her sophomore year, and did extremely well in her class. Plus, I think a science teacher rec. would work for a dietetics major.

Do you think I have a shot at getting in? Also, any advice on things I can do to increase my chances are especially appreciated. Thank you!
