Things you should know:
- I was a teenaged mother during my last two years of high school, and that is a long story I would rather not go into.
- During my junior year I had to be in and out of the hospital due to serious physical injuries (and psychological trauma), but I tried to not let it affect my grades (it did affect my EC's though).
- I moved to the United States with my father, and we hardly had anything at all back then. (I went to high school in the United States.)
- English is my fourth language.
- I am fluent in Arabic, French, and Tamazight.
- My mother died when I was little, so my dad raised me (he also forced me to do well in everything).
- My interests are all over the place, and I spend a lot of time trying to improve myself
- I was accepted to the schools I applied to last year.
- It is my dream to go to medical school. The human body fascinates me, and I truly love learning about it. The idea of how much technology could advance in my lifetime makes me shiver a little. (In a good way.)

I also want to add that I am trying to be less hard on myself. I used to never be happy with anything I've done, and I'm trying to stop that.

What do I want to major in? I am still not sure. Mathematics and Physics are at the top of my (new) list though. (Along with Music, International Relations, Biomedical Engineering, etc. hehe)

Please say anything you think will be helpful, and thank you! (I'm exhausted, so good night and take care.)

Wow. You have a lot of great stuff. You are incredibly well qualified and there is definitely a good chance of you getting in. Can’t believe you maintained those grades and had a child?? (If I am understanding this correctly.)
What colleges did you get into last year?? (If you don’t mind me asking?)
Best of Luck to you, I really think you could get in :)

chance me back if you get a chance!

Of course MIT admissions are unpredictable, but there’s nothing that will prevent you from being admitted. Good luck!

Whoa, this is amazing. You’ve been through so much yet you’ve pulled through and really excelled. Above all, it seems like you have the passion it takes.

If I were an admissions officers, you’d already be accepted. :3

But the admissions process for colleges is largely a crapshoot, so I hope you apply to other schools that interest you. I am confident that you will get into a great school.

U aint fluent in japanese and u got a 760

Your extracurriculars might make it seem like you are all over the place. Be sure to convey to the admissions committee that you are focused and not just joining clubs to pad your resume. :)

O_o if this is real, then you’re a boss.
I’d say you’d be accepted to MIT.
Do you even have time to sleep?

If you somehow get denied, I would fly to Cambridge and slap the admissions comitee at MIT. This is just AMAZING!!!

Thanks, everyone. It really means a lot to me.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I’m in the middle of a move, and there are so many hectic things going on right now. I will try to respond to everyone’s comments separately very soon, but I’m short on time at the moment. Thanks again, and enjoy your weekend!

@Vanaalst: (I sent you a message.) It would have been impossible for me to handle everything without my friends, teachers, dad, doctor, etc. They are the people I am indebted to. I’ve met people who had it so much harder than me, and they still pulled through. This is the way I see it…no matter how how strong you are, you will eventually collapse if you don’t have someone to help you along the way.

@xjudokax: Thank you. MIT is notorious for how unpredictable they can be, and that is the main reason why I posted this topic.

@veezbo: Thanks, haha. Many schools interest me, but math and science are the two things I’m most passionate about. Music and languages are close rivals too.

@fredkay: I wouldn’t consider myself fluent in Japanese by my standards. On the other hand, I am trying to stop that… Sigh. My dad can speak so many languages, and I’ve been learning quite a few for several years. After a while the endless vocabulary and grammar someone knows makes their head feel like exploding. [/ramble]

@Substituent: Thanks, and I have thought about that. The problem is that I have so many interests, and some people think I’m crazy because of that. =) It does make sense though. Maybe I’m guilty of this, I don’t know. However, I’ve seen some people join an endless amount of clubs and do volunteer work while disliking them at the same time. This does not make sense to me. If you really love something, go for it. Maybe time management is the only real obstacle, and that can be taken care of.

@kinetix64: Haha, thanks. Did I ever have time for sleep? I didn’t sleep a lot, that’s for sure. That’s a very bad thing, and I definitely don’t encourage anyone to do that. Don’t abandon your health to become a slave to your schoolwork, etc. I don’t think it was worth it in the long run because my friends were always worried about me, and I hardly had time for myself. I don’t think I would’ve made it without my best friend (he is the dearest person to me), my friends, my teachers, and my father.

@UChicago2016: Thank you!
