Well, I’d say that it’s a maybe. College of Biological Sciences has a Middle 50% ACT score range of 29-33. Since you are below but not far, you might see a waitlist decision. I’d get the application in ASAP to get in the first wave of reviews. Also the UW gpa is good but might not be as competitive as others. I would have been good to take AP Biology and at least Honors Chem. Also, hopefully you have taken or are currently taking higher math than Alg2/Trig as Calculus will be in the first semester of college.

That all being said, I have a friend who’s son was admitted to CBS with a 26 ACT but a 4.0 UW GPA.

Worse comes to worse, get into CLA and transfer shortly after starting by getting excellent grades, you have the scores to get into CLA.

@UMNMom thanks! I took the first semester of Honors Pre-Calc BC but dropped due to low grades so I finished off with regular Pre-Calc second half of junior year. GPA should go up this year, but not sure if that will matter. Already submitted application last week.

UMN doesn’t superscore - they consider the highest composite score from a single test sitting.
