Chances for Northeastern Business?

Hey guys! I am a senior (male/Korean) in Portland and I am interested in hearing if I have a chance of making the business (Marketing) program at Penn State.

Applied EA

SAT: 1370
GPA: 3.42 UW / 4.0
Other stats:
Dual Enrollment, attending local community college since beginning of Junior Year
Will receive Associates Degree in Business at end of senior year

Extracurriculars:

  • Completed multiple internships related to sales & marketing for start ups around my area. I am receiving a very well written letter of recommendation from my manager there about how one of my projects improved their sales tracking process.
  • Founded my own tutoring company where I manage a team of 4-5 other tutors across the state.
  • Working as a consultant for a local marketing agency. Through the agency I have worked on projects for numerous small businesses across the region, helping them draft and execute marketing plans. I am looking to start my own consulting company in the near future.
  • Member of clubs such as DECA and FCCLA where I have competed at a national level
  • President of an Financial Literacy Club at my community college

Let me know what you guys think, thanks

Probably a reach, good that you applied EA though.

I would say you have a chance. My son got in with a 3.5 (out of 4.0) GPA unweighted and a 1300 SAT. He had strong EA, but so do you. He did have to do the study abroad first semester freshman year, but it has been a great experience for him. There are 1,100 freshman NU students that are abroad right now (its called NU.IN). I think if you are not willing to enroll in NU.IN, then it might be a reach, but if you are, you definitely have a shot. Dublin, Montreal, London, Germany, Australia, Greece, China are some of the options.
