I'm a high school senior as of right now, coming from a prestigious art school in south Florida where my GPA unweighted is somewhere around a 3.4, not sure what the weighted is but it's a little lower than the statistics show. My SAT scores are in the 1800 range and I haven't taken the ACT's but I'm going to next month. Also retaking the SAT's for a higher score, hoping to break 2000. I've taken 6 AP's to date.
I'm applying for NYU College of Arts and Sciences for Journalism. I'm a very strong essay writer, and I have over 400 hours of community service, mostly fundraising for cancer research related and helping children in poverty learn the arts, if that makes any difference.

I'm applying early decision because NYU has been my dream for years, I know I messed up a little bit in freshman/sophomore year because I had issues at home.

Do I have any chance at all, or should I not waste the money?
