Chances for pepperdine

I'm not the brightest student and my cummulitive GPA is extremely of low compared to all the other people here. its 3.242 unweighted and 3.333 unweigthed. I sort of have an excuse. I am a first generation college student so my parents didnt really have high expectations and neither did I.

i started out freshmen year with a : 2.8 and 3.0, mainly because I concentrated on my sports and didnt care much about school. I was on the freshman basketball team and awarded captain and MVP. I was also on the JV golf team and also awarded captain and MVP

then in sohpmore year I realized that everyone else was working hard to keep their academics and sports balanced to get into the college they wanted. I was convinced that I wanted to go to a decent college because my brother went to a pretty good one (Claremont). I tried to work harder in school while continue my love of sports. I took 6 classes + a sport the first semester which was kind of dumb because I was already behind in my studies. I got a 3.33 the first semester. and in the second semester I took 5 + a sport and got a 3.4. This year i got into JV basketball and was awarded captain. As for golf I got into Varsity and was awarded Most improved player, which to me doesnt mean much. I also played in the team cif qualifying round if that helps.

sophmore year summer I took art and got an A.

By junior year, I knew I had to do something about my grades. I stopped playing basketball for the school (i still play for fun of course) and concentrated more on school. I took two honors courses the first semester and got a weighted gpa of 3.6. the honors math was a bad idea, I got a C which dropped me out of the class. in the second semester, I only had one honors course and I got a 3.6 weighted. I played in the CIF individual qualifying round and got 6th but was not qualified. I also played in the team qualifying round but we also did not qualify.

I also needed some more EC's so I created my own club called Eyes Around the World during the beginning of junior year. We collect previously used eyeglasses from optometrists and students and ship them to those in need.

I am an upcoming senior now and I also got into my school's ASB (associated student body) for the position of hospitality.its just the student government.
well I know that was probably a boring read for most people but can someone tell me my chances? I am also interested in a REACH school, USC. I know it's probably impossible for me to get into usc but i'm going to try anyway. I've already visited both usc and pepperdine. I plan on doing an interview with usc as soon as i finish preparing. so what are my chances? Thank you for your time.

edit
oh yeah i forgot standarized scores.
for SAT I i got 710 math 550 critical reading and 590 writing, 9 on the essay
and for the ACT, I got a composite score of 31.

how'd you do on the SATs? I don't think you'll get into USC just b/c of the people I've seen rejected from there...Pepperdine is a slight reach, but it depends on your test scores.

You've got great ECs...dedication to sports always looks good.

Edit:
given your test scores, I'd say Pepperdine is possible...it'll depend on recs and essays. you may want to throw in a safety.

Also, my location is in Los Angeles, CA. I don't know if that helps

Edit
thanks brand. I have two teachers i have a good impression on pretty well for recs and as for the essay, I have the college planner guy that's suppose to help me in the edit processing.

well if anyone else could tell me my chances, that would be great. or some suggestions for business schools that I should apply to will also be appreciated. Thanks

anyone's suggestion would be great. thanks

lol well sometimes it's just hard to get people to respond...perhaps if you offer free cookies people will start joking around on this thread and you'll finally get some helpful responses.

What's really gonna save you is your 31 on the ACT - that is a great score, particularly for Pepperdine.
