Chances for Rutgers New Brunswick SAS

I am a borderline applicant with a 3.4 & 1660 on SATs. I'm in-state as well. On the Rutgers Applicant Facebook page a girl posted that she called the admissions office and they told her Rutgers received 60,000 applications for New Brunswick. Considering the total student population of RU New Brunswick is 45,000 including upper classmen; the number of freshman they accept vs. the 60,000 applicants is clearly disproportionate so does that diminish my chance (and other borderline applicants) of getting in? I was really looking forward to attending RU, but clearly it is very competitive with the total number of people who have applied. I guess it's time to accept the fact that I won't be attending & apply elsewhere? Is it like this every year or is this year different when it comes to the number of people applying?

Hang in there! I also heard the number of applications they recieved! Wow! But I also know a lot of my friends that got accepted are not choosing to go there so not sure how that all works or if they have until a certain date to respond! I’m also from jersey applied early action and have not heard yet:( my gpa is 3.7 top 15 percent of my class but low s.a.t.'s

I did early action and the deadline to hear back is January 31st. I have a friend with a 3.7 and 1670 SAT and she got into SEBS & SAS so if your SAT is around that, I’m sure you have a chance.

Accepted to Newark tonight. Still hoping for New Brunswick campus to respond!
