Chances for Seattle U?

Just wondering what people who are familiar with Seattle U think. What about scholarships/financial aid?

GPA: 3.5-3.6 unweighted, 3.6-3.65 weighted
Course load: 4 Honors Classes, 5 AP classes, 3 AP self-study tests
Rigorous college prep school

ACT: Currently 26 composite (weak math, high English/Reading), but I'm retaking it and shooting for 28 at least.

Average-Good extracurriculars.
Good recommendations.

From Nebraska, so not well-represented.

I'd say go for it, you have a good shot. Friend's kid (Seattle local) got in with similar stats. I do not know about merit aid, but need-based aid was generous enough to make the tuition less than that of a state school.

I dont speak for their admissions. But I know a lot of people there. I think you have a very good chance of getting in. Being from Nebraska is a help as well. There is a history of Nebraska kids going there, particularly from Creighton Prep.

Seattle is a beautiful city. Seattle University is a great school. Its another one of those hidden Jesuit jewels. They have very strong faculty there.

Aid depends on a number of things. Some of their scholarships are restricted to the Northwest and California, which is peculiar in my view. They will never get out of their regional focus if they continue to do that.

As for need based financial aid, it all depends on your circumstances like every college. But they will be generous where they need to be.

They are rejoining Division I in sports, I hear. That is welcome news.

Keep up the good work. No senior slack. Good luck.

Swansong - I actually attend Creighton Prep (the state's only Jesuit high school). I'm hoping that this will work to my favor, since I've been educated at a Jesuit institution, which prides itself in excellence.

You’ve got a good chance at Seattle. Their ACT average is about a 26, but if you improve your score, you can expect to be admitted.
