Chances for SMU, TCU, UT Austin

Hello! Thank you for your help! :)

I'm applying to SMU in the year of 2015. Moreover, I am homeschooled, and have been for my entire high school career.

Ethnicity: African-American/Black
GPA: 3.7/3.8 (It's on the verge, but I'm sure I can tip it over).

4 Years of Science (2 are dual-credit courses at a local uni, an 'C' and 'B' score. Ouch!)

Will take German SAT Subject Test

Extra-Curriculars:

Voice Lessons for 4 Years, several recitals and competitions won
Won Talent Show contest on MSC Cruises (this is not as small as it sounds; it was a major thing with many competitors. How can I boost this description up?)
Founder of Feminist website, LoverHunterFighter.com; currently has 15,000 e-mail subscribers
Winner of Women.in.Film Grant, to produce movie short, premiered in theater
Filmmaker of numerous short films, won SXSW High School Short Film Competition
Participated in SMU's Summer Film Production program; we made a feature-length film in two weeks
Wrote 4 Feature-Length Screenplays; one Semi-Finalist at Academy Nicholls in 2013

Work:
I don't know if this qualifies, but perhaps it shows leadership/initiative: I ran a Kickstarter campaign, and successfully raised $3000 to sell a poster I created; now I sell the poster on a website I run, averages about 20 posters a month

I have LOR's from an college English professor, German tutor, and a filmmaking professor I work with.

What I'm trying to bring out is that I demonstrate leadership mostly through my filmmaking EC's; that's the majority of time spent on. I led several projects with varying budgets to success; a few won local film festivals.

I'm seriously lacking in volunteer work; I literally have none. What's one way of volunteering that complements with my interests (Film, Writing, etc.) ?

Overall, thank you!!!

I think you are a match for SMU! If its your top choice you can apply ED there. You’re also a match for UT Austin and TCU. This is all assuming you score a 1900+ on your SATs and maintain your grades.

Are you looking only in Texas? I encourage you to research other schools. If you are going to score 2000+ on your SAT you could have a great shot at some top ranked colleges around the nation.

Look into:
UMich
NYU
USC
UCLA/UCSB/UC Berkeley
U of Miami
U of Richmond
Wisconsin-Madison
Washington-Seattle
GW
Maybe even Georgetown or Emory or something of that caliber if you applied ED.

Best of luck.
