Hey just wanted to know what my chances were havent really done much.

SAT:
Critical Reading: 540
Math:620
Writing:480

GPA: 3.66(unweighted)

Freshman year: mostly honors classes A's and B's one trisemester of straight A's

Sophomore year: most honors one ap A's B's C's

EC:

Wyldlife Leader (middle school ministry)
Golf
have about 40 hours of service

Your SAT total is 1640. You'll probably need to get it up to around 2000.

By the time you apply, you should have at least a 3.6 unweighted, unless you have a crazy difficult schedule, in which case you can probably go as low as a 3.4 unweighted.

If your very serious about attending GW you should definitely visit and interview, or even apply ED. Interest plays a large role in admissions. I know quite a few people from my school who were much more qualified but got turned down, probably because they didn't visit while I visited twice.

Your ECs are good enough; they won't help you or hurt you. Unless your a golf star.

Your major is also going to play a factor.

3.4 isnt really the minimum my school is pretty competitive for a public and plenty of people with 3.1s-3.3s get into GWU, though it might make Elliott a bit harder

You got a good chance my man.

I don't think it's fair to mislead you. I think some of the other posters are being too optimistic. I checked naviance to be sure, but at our very competitive high school the lowest GPA GW accepted was one 3.4. Everyone else had 3.5 +, with an average of a 3.8. As for SATs, the lowest was a 1200 (CR + M), with the average at 1335 (CR + M). The trend over the years has gotten more competitive. This year, no one with below a 3.6 was accepted (that was an ED acceptance) and the average SAT was a 2030 (CR + M + WR). You'll really have to bring up all your grades and test scores to have a realistic shot.

Actually, upon rereading your post, your grades are within range, but you must work on your test scores, especially your writing.

Your grades are ok. You need to get those test scores up and work on the extracurriculars. Not everyone's a 4.0 student at GW, but the vast majority of people I know had high test scores and stellar extracurricular/leadership credentials.
