Chances for St. Andrews?

Hi all!

I'm applying to St. Andrews using the CommonApp and I'm nervous as hell. Can anyone chance me? :o

-3.88 GPA

-1450/2400 SAT (I had a 101 degree fever the day I took the exam)

-I've taken AP European History & AP Macroeconomics but I haven't taken the tests yet because I was moving out of the country on the dates of the exams

-Great letter of recommendation from counselor

And I'm applying for Italian and German. Anyone? I think that if it wasn't for my SAT score I'd stand a decent chance :(

Is there any requirement to know any Italian or German?

I’ve just looked at ST Andrews website and it is not at all clear to me whether this is a language course from scratch or whether you are supposed to have A-level Italian and.or German or equivalent before you begin.

Looking at the general entry requirements for US students, you don’t meet them.

You might get in if it is not a popular course and/or the language faculty really needs your money.

^ Aah, that’s what I thought. There’s always hope I guess :o

I’m submitting the application tonight so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see
