Chances for Stanford and USC? (4.0 GPA/2260 SAT) PS Will Chance Back!

So it’s coming up to early action time for seniors like me and Stanford is at the top of my list and I’m super nervous about applying because 5 FREAKING PERCENT, like what the heck Stanford. I want some honest advice about my chances so go crazy and tell me what’s wrong with me or tell me how awesome I am, I would love all of it. Oh and I’m applying REA. Also, while you lovely people are here, could you pretty please chance me for USC too?

Overall, yes I know Stanford is pretty much a crap-shoot for anyone but just based on all this stuff, what do you honestly think my chances at getting in are? I know it’s a lot of stuff to read through but I would really appreciate any help I can get!! I will chance back, btw wink wink.

Yes, for SC. Stanford you have a legitimate application and it will get a serious look. Downside, is you’re female Asian from Cali— making for probably the most competitive applicant pool. Best–

USC-Make sure to write a good essay, visit if you can, show some real interest, and act like you care. Kids with stats similar to yours got rejected from our local HS last year while many lesser qualified kids got in. USC seems to be yield sensitive and will probably think you are going to UCB, UCLA, Stanford and are using them as a last ditch safety.

Stanford-your stats are impressive and within the range of their accepted students but I’ll let all the others here explain how you need something else to get that 1 in 20 lottery ticket. Assuming you are in CA, why not UCB? Their engineering school is just as good as Stanford.

Is your Dance participation outside of school or within your school?

@JustOneDad Both! :slight_smile:

@gluttonforstress On USC’s common data set, it says they don’t consider the level of applicant’s interest in the admissions process.

Stanford’s admissions is like a lottery. Nobody can really say you’re definitely going to win it or not. You have strong stats, good EC’s, and good essays. Those will make you competitive. Competitive enough? Very difficult to say.

Great chance for USC but stanford is a crapshoot. I’d Say you have as good a chance as any there.

You are a really competitive applicant for both USC and Stanford, but neither school is a guarantee. The only hole I can see in your application is your Math 2 score.

Chance me back?

You have a really good shot at USC! It is hard to say for Stanford though because Stanford is a reach for everyone. Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1847714-chance-me-usc-ucla-ucb-nyu.html#latest

That moment when you realize these recent commenters glanced at your thread for one sec when they still be chancing for Stanford even though you did REA LOL. You have a fun personality! That probably came off in your essays, so cudos to you. As for USC, it’s a match, you’re probably getting in. If you don’t mind me asking, did you get into REA Stanford?

Chance back?
