Comment: I’m an international student and came to the United States in my Junior year :D

How about my chances for Stanford, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Caltech, Princeton, UC Berkeley?
Which university's biology department is the best?

Your stats are great, you realistically have a shot at all them, though you have to remember that with the top schools it is practically a lottery. I think the biology departments are all going to be rather good at these schools, MiT or John Hopkins might be slightly better…

Although these kinds of schools are reaches for everyone, you look great on paper. Your ECs could be a little stronger but your awards are amazing! I’d say decent shots at all. Hopkins might be the best for biology from what I know, but I’m not an expert.

Thanks. I was wondering which university was better for me. If I wouldn’t be accepted by MIT, I’d go to Johns Hopkins.
Yes. My ECs have been weak since I came to the U.S. I neither own my company nor have won the International Chopin Piano Competition. Do you have any idea which strengthens my ECs?

You look great, your scores are amazing. ECs aren’t spectacular or anything but that doesnt detract too much. Write stellar essays.

Also, you may want to look at WUSTL for biology. Definitely a high match for someone like you. Tufts would probably be good too.

Oh too answer your question, the first three and berkeley are probably best for bio. JHU or MIT for the top.

Best of luck!

It’s going to depend on your essays whether you get in or not

Berkeley is also great. According to some university ranking, its biology department was as high as Johns Hopkins.
I will spend as much time for essays as possible. I’m not sure whether or not my essays can be more impressive than those of native English speakers, though.
