chances for Stanford!

hey there...i'm thinking of applying SCEA to stanford and here is my "stuff:"

Grade:
5.0 (weighted)

SAT:
2400

SAT II:
planning to take bio, mathII, and US history (or english)
and assuming that i score 800 in all tests.

EC:
Science Olympiad
Student council VP
National Honor Society (VP and P)
National Junior Honor Soceiety (secretary)
Tons of volunteer work at the school (almost every weekend)
Camp Counselor (junior and sophomore year)
Math fair
Language fair (mandarin)

AP classes:
US History: 5
Psychology: 5
Statistics: 4
English:3
Art: 3
Calc BC: for the ab part, i scored a 4 but onlya three in the BC portion =[
physics M: 3
(i'm really dissapointed about these grades but i got the 5s and 4 in my junior year, so would that show improvement???)

This year (i'm a senior), i'm taking
AP: chinese, Euro. History, art (sculptute), chem
Analysis, advanced Rhetoric

I'm also considering UCBerkeley, JHU, vanderbilt, and brown...

ps- there are only two people in my graduating class (including me) which also
happens to be the first class to graduate from our tiny school.
I think my essays are pretty strong, but would being an asian lower my chances?
I get that koreans, chinese, japanese, and East Indians have appear a lot more impressive than everyone else, but what about vietnamese?

thanks for reading all this--i'll chance you back!
=]

Wow you got a 2400. How did u do it?

Stanford is cool. Got a few friends from my high school in CA going SCEA too. :)

Chances? I dunno. You look solid, but I have to say that at least one of my classmates has more/stronger EC’s than you. I am not sure how chane-y u are, sorry.

do you know what EC they are? My school’s really small
so it focuses a lot on the sciences and art-ish, but not
so much on sports…

for the sats–
practice and get good review books!

anyone???
…buuummpp…

Who knows–you have a lottery ticket. You will really need to well position a passion through your essays–none jumps out here. Most great ECs are not school based.

Your class and school standing takes something off of your very impressive GPA. However, the single-most important measure of intelligence, The SAT, is something that you nailed.

–I’d say work on developing an interesting essay. How are you different from all those other Asians out there that have similar solid applications? Maybe your Vietnamese heritage can be of some use to you in this regard.

Are you considering the Ivys…Princeton, Dartmouth, Harvard, Yale??

Also, you play any sports? That seems to be the 1 thing that you are missing.

thanks you guys for answering!

My school doesn’t do class ranking,
but Scronjsn11, what do you mean my classes take something off my GPA?

princeton…mmmm if only lol!
but yea i’m applying to all of those if i get deferred or rejected.
I’m praying for a defferred!

there are only 2 people in your grade? am i reading this correctly?
i’m guessing that what Scronjsn11 is trying to say is that since there are only 2 people in your grade, universities probably assume that you are more a home school type of kid and that a 5 GPA is probably inflated and thus meaningless. But you scored 2400 on SAT so that meant you are actually what your GPA depicted, an very intelligent individual.
