ELC is not connected to Regents. ELC has to do with your high school. Regents has to do with who is accepted to the school, the top couple percent according to the selection criteria.

for asking such a dumb question.......you're below average and you'll NEVER make berkeley >=|

hahaha jp jp

good stats....good luck =]

im a senior, check my old posts for stats: theyre worse than yours and im regent semifinalist so far, top 1,000 out of 40,000 applicants

if your not in then hell, the world is upside down.
ok?

Is Regents awarded to the top #% of the applicants for each college or of all the University's applicants?

lol, average asian girl...

didn't you mean the stereotypical asian girl?

schoolismylife: haha exactly.

tchaikovsky - Regents is merit based. ELC means top 4% in his/her high school in classes that meet UC a-g requirements (practically guaranteeing admission). The two are independent of each other. If your friend goes to a top-notch high school and has stellar grades, scores and stats, he/she is probably Regents material even though he/she may not have been in the top 4%.

Sorry for the repetition. Didn't see that DRab said practically the same thing in post #22.

Thanks UCmomma, I eventually came to the same conclusion :).
