chances for these UC's?

I've applied to these schools:

UC Riverside (obviously accepted)

UC Los Angeles

UC Irvine

UC Santa Barbara

Mind you, I already know that my stats are definitely not great, but here they are anyway:

SAT: 1750 (530 M) (530 CR) (690 W) ...above national average but still not outstanding.

SAT Subject: 550 Literature

ACT(Yikes!): 22 (26 English-related subjects) (22 Math) (19 Science...definitely not good, i'm aware)

Unweighted GPA: 3.74

Weighted: 3.96

Class rank: 5/247

Personal Statements: Very strong, i believe (teacher actually used one as an example for the class). My first one was about me being absent for 6 months of my 7th grade year due to family struggles but still being able to persevere, leading me to the conclusion that I wanted to be a teacher. My second one was about not getting back into honors until my sophomore after my situation in middle school and also finding my path into becoming a leader.

EC's:

Journalism Editor-in-Chief (Junior and Senior year)

Link Crew Leader

Yearbook (Editor)

Volunteer work for the YMCA

GATE Program

My intended major is English and I'm also going to get a secondary teaching credential.

What do you think my chances are for those three schools? :)

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I also passed my AP English Language and Composition Exam with a 3.

we will know how it turns out in 3 weeks …

Irvine and SB will be reaches…
but LA is really a long shot.

anyways, we’ll know it in a few weeks (especially LA, next Sunday (last year))

it looks like for LA, the decision comes out on Friday March 12th last year, and if the pattern holds true, it will be just another week …

UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara are both reaches.

I think you should have considered applying to UC Santa Cruz. -.-

Thanks, guys. :)

I knew LA was a long shot when I applied. But hey, free applications for low-income students, so why not? XD

But I was trying to apply to the closest UC’s to home…I don’t want to go far.

I actually had decided on Cal State Fullerton, but a teacher encouraged me to strive for something better.

We shall see very soon.

Anyone else feeling the anxiety? :O

@kay
Not really. In fact, the peak of anxiety was the entire Feburary… when you got in safety UCs suchas Riverside and Irvine (both with rolling admission from Feb 1st, that’s when I got them.), but still have no clue whether you’ll get in dream school like LA and Cal, and there’s one more month to wait…

As for now, it’s just the matter of a week or two, so I feel completely pacified.

Yeah, I suppose that is true. :)

I got into the school I planned on attending, but was later thrown off by advice. Lol.

Good luck though!

You seem like an intelligent person, so I think that you’ll get into the school of your choice. :)

@kay
thx, but honestly i don’t think i can get into Cal (even if i do, i won’t go LOL).
I have 2000 SAT, perfect SAT2s (Bio and Chem, Math2 also), and perfect GPA,
but my ECs are a little off key… so what ever :D

keep talking on this will definitely bring one’s anxiety level back, so i guess we should stop here LOL.
