Chances at a UC Like UCB, UCSD, or UCLA. And chances at LAC.

Hello everyone I've runinto this site more than a few times and it has just occureed to me to make an account. So here's my first post on my admission chances at any of the higher UCs and some lib. arts colleges like Carleton, Davidson, Pomona, and Amherst. Of course I live in CA so the UCs would be convenient while the LACs are very appealing, but I have no idea what I can get in with my stats and kinda bad grades.

I'm a sophmore currently.
My GPA is a 3.8 weighted, 3.3 unweighted.
I have yet to take the Sat and the lot but I will probaly get no less than a 1200 based on practice tests.
I have O.K. Extracurriculars:
JV Team for my schools Academic Decathlon team,
Secretary/Treasurer of the Literary Club, which I cofounded freshman year(used to be Pres., even though I didn't start doing much until this year. Though we do a schoolwide literary journal). Secretary of the Japanese Language Club.
I'm taken a total of 6 Ap/Honors classes thus far(2 AP).
Oddly enough I'm in the top 10% of my class.
I have no atheletic ability whatsoever
I have around twenty hours as a tutor volunteer.

So then what do you guys think? Appreciate any advice on what to improve or add. Thanks.

take more A.P. exams in your junior and senior years.

Your Unweighted GPA is low, and I doubt you'd get into any of those LAC's with a 1200 and the higher-UC's. For the LAC's you need probably 1400+, and I think UC's put a lot of emphasis on grades. Just being honest-but u have plenty of time to bring everything up :) Just practice. on my practice tests I was getting high 1100's and practiced for months until I was getting high 1300's and low 1400's, just go over everything you've gotten wrong.

Cool, I'll definetely start working a little harder and I will be taking three more A.P classes junior year (I really have no room in my tiny schedule unless I off another class, like Spanish 3 or something) So if I raise my GPA to 3.8ish unweighted and SAT to 1400's I'll have a good chance with it?
Thanks for the speedy replies.
