Hello everyone.

I am currently a freshman at the University of Southern California (in the Communications School as a Journalism major). I applied to transfer to Brown University as a History major and I was just wondering if anyone could reflect on my transfer odds. Here's a succinct summary of my application:

College:

First Semester GPA: 3.85
(I took one upper-level history course and received and A- in it, and the professor of it gave me a recommendation)
Volunteered at Annenberg TV News Station 2Hrs/Wk
Quiz Bowl Club member 4Hrs/Wk
Fencing Club Member 2Hrs/Wk
Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society
2nd Semeter: I am now working 12Hrs/Wk near campus.

High School:

Attended a good boarding school
3.5 GPA or thereabouts overall
APs: 5 Euro History, 5 American History, 4 Literature
SAT Score: 1360 (720 V, 640 M)
President of Chess Club (also Club Champion)
President of Quiz Bowl (2 years)
Fencing Club Member (School Fencing Champion all 4 years)
Vox Populi (political discussion club, member for 2 years)
JV Soccer (3 Seasons)
JV Track (1 Season)

Anyone think my odds for a transfer are good or decent? My application was handwritten (no online submissions for transfer students), so it might have looked sloppy. My essay was about my love of studying Hebrew. I am white and not Jewish, by the way.

Any thoughts before I receive my letter on the 16th or so of May? I don't want to get my hopes up if I don't have much of a chance. I know Brown has a 20% acceptance rate for transfers, but I don't know how strong the transfer applicant pool is. I already got into NYU as a transfer, but I won't be going there.
