Chances for transfer

Hello all,

I am currently a second semester student at Vanderbilt. After some careful deliberation about my own passions and interests, I have decided that I no longer wish to remain at my school because my passion, business, is not emphasized at the undergraduate level. Another major reason for me is I can’t really afford the school. Also, I believe I do not fit into the culture of the school. I just want to know which college among the ones I have picked I have a chance and no chance. I’ll put my stats below:

HS GPA: 4.00
Several good clubs and positions

SAT:
Math: 800
Reading: 710

College:
Cumulative GPA: 2.7 (I know this is bad)
I’m in a handful of clubs and I have a job.

I’m also a Mexican female, if that affects anything lol.

So currently, I am applying to the following schools: UVA, Cornell, William & Mary, UGA, USC, Georgia Tech, Penn, Georgetown, Florida, UT Austin, and Wake Forest. Feel free to make adjustments to the list as you see fit. Go all out - be brutal. I just need to know the truth.

Thanks for all of the help!

What is your immigration status? Legal permanent resident? H4? F1? J1? Something else?

What kind of budget do you have?

If you can afford Vanderbilt for another year, and you believe that you could focus on raising your GPA, then staying put for that year probably makes the best sense. Yes your HS GPA and yest scores are good, but your GPA shows that you haven’t figured out how to handle the academic work yet at Vanderbilt. Most of the places on your list are peer instiutions, and your GPA could be a problem.

Many of your targets are public schools that give little or no FA to out of state (or international) students. Also, a 2.7 college GPA is likely to be a problem at many.
