Bump...(10char)

gpa=shaky

your friend's gonna be waitlisted at michigan, might get in if they actually pay attention to the medical problems

Are Michigan admissions formulaic, or do they look at ECs as well?

My friend's pretty anxious about applying to Mich...can anyone else offer some insight, as well as advice for improving the application?

^They follow a formula because they're public.

EC=for merit based scholarships (I'm 90% sure that's the case)

They don't look at EC's at all? So only SAT I, and GPA? Do they need SAT IIs? What is average ACT?

^SAT or ACT is enough, SAT II is generally recommended, but not required.

EC=not really.

Not to sound mean but..

Bad SAT, bad gpa, decent ecs. If he can explain his situation in his essays the best I would say is a "highmatch/lowreach"

The SAT is above Michigan's average, even for out-of-state applicants: 1340/1980.
