Chances for UCLA/USC

Junior year's finally over [thank GOD], and I was wondering about my chances of getting into the two mentioned schools with the following....resume, if that's the right word. xD

TESTING;
- SAT1: 2240, CR + Math = 1490 [pretty sure i'm not retaking]
- SAT2: 800 Math 2, and I'm planning on taking Bio in June

AP CLASSES/TESTS;
- Junior Year: APLAC, Bio, Calc AB, and Chinese
- Senior Year: Physics, Stats, and Gov

GRADES;
Freshman Year
- All A's all 7 classes
Sophomore Year
- Semester 1: 2 A's and 1 B in honors, 3 A's in regular classes
- Semester 2: 2 A's and 1 B in honors, 2 A's and 1 B in regular classes
Junior Year
- Semester 1: 3 A's and 1 B in AP's, 2 A's in reg classes
- Semester 2 (Hoping for): 3 A's and 1 B in AP's, 2 A's in reg classes

Not too many AP's and Honors since my school is utterly lacking in them.

EXTRACURRICULARS;
- 190 hours of volunteer at a children's museum
- 1 year in Robotics
- 2 years in Interact
- 1 year in JV Badminton [99% chance of varsity next year]

I also help around in my mom's business, in marketing and somewhat in production
My EC's are kinda weak, I know. orz

Essays don't worry me TOO much, though I think I might need to write a pretty good one to compete with the people from my school.
And, if it helps at ALL for UCLA, I live in California!

Solid applicant for UCLA, USC might be a little tougher. However, they are both very good schools with rigorous admissions. Don’t expect anything, but I’m not telling to have LOW expectations. There’s a difference. :P

Thank goodness, I was thinking I had no chance at all what with all of the overachievers at school. xD And thanks for your opinion, much appreciated. (:

You should have more variety in your EC’s. USC weights heaaavily in exc’s. Not only do they want you to have really nice grades, they want you to be a person who does a lot of things outside of school as well! :slight_smile: & LOL! Zhuzhupets!

I think you’ll be fine if you add something artistic (like visual arts or music) to your EC’s (:

Oh cool, thanks you guys. (: I remembered when I was going to bed that I can probably submit an art portfolio since I’ve been taking art classes for like the past 12 years. And I’ve finished level 10 CM testing for piano. Yayyy!
Thanks everyone!
