firstly, thank you for reading this.
okay im a senior at a high school in india and will be applying to colleges this yr. i would like to know what my chances are for the uc's(specifically ucsd, ucla, ucb) and usc too.

stats:-
sat:- 1980(1350 cr+m)
im going to retake this again in november and im predicting a score of around 2150-2250
sat subject test:-taking in october and will get 750+ in math2, physics and chem

grades:
since we dont have a gpa system ill list my percentages
9th grade: 72%
10th grade:78%
10th boards: 95.2%
11th grade: 70%
12th grade: 68%

okay now heres the thing, my high school doesnt give the students good marks because they set papers which are way tougher than the ones we get for the boards.
hopefully the universities can see that because i did get a 95.2% in the boards which is assesed nationally.
class rank: school doesnt rank but it is 4 or 5 out of 100 so top 5%

ec's:
4 yrs soccer(captain senior yr)
4 yrs tennis
2 yrs volleyball
4 yrs model un(director of my schools comittee at a mun)
a gold medal for coming first in school in a science olympiad
creative writing competition
regional debate competition

recommendations:- will be amazing
essays:- havent written them as yet but will be great because i hav been told that im a good writer
intended major: mechE or cs not sure as yet

so yeah thats about it, plz give a detailed reply as far as possible :D

Pick up that SAT score ASAP, should give you better chances. ECs look a bit average, bump them up with something hefty. And include any awards if you’ve earned any.

i will definitely get the sat score up to 2200 im already getting 2150 on prac tests.
can u tell me my chances for each university??

Without a GPA, I’m not too sure how to assess you. If you get your SAT up to 2150, I’d say you have a solid chance at UCSD and USC; your SAT is already pretty good for these two schools. Your EC’s (as YBN1996 said) are average, but if you could change that, I think UCLA wouldn’t be too much of a reach (this is assuming you raise the sat). Berkeley is the least likely: mid (maybe high) reach I’d say; not trying to be pessimistic, I might be wrong. These are just some thoughts, apply for them all and more! You never know. -I’m a CA resident applying to all of those schools; do you mind giving me some feedback on my post about the UC’s? Good luck to you!!!

thank you dougbrewman, ive heard that ucb looks beyond grades so im hoping that will help me there. as far as the others are concerned is there anything else i can specifically do to improve my chances there?
how about sat2’s? im sure ill get >750 in them

bump!!!
anyone else???

UCB does look beyond grades, but that’s assuming that you have the grades needed. Your EC’s are average and your SAT score needs to be 2250+ for UCB. Are you applying for engineering?

i am applying for engineering and i will get the sat up to 2150-2250
what about the other uni’s?

this post got lost so bumping it!!!
need replies for all the listed uni’s
