Chances for UCS: Average Student

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if u could help me out with some of the U.C.s (UCD, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, UCLA... in particular)

G.P.A.- 3.57 weigthed (not great at all, but i had 6 honors/A.P. classes in soph and junior year)
ACT- 31 composite (98%)

E.C.
Over 100 community hours.
Work Experience
4 Years on the Tennis Team (2 Varsity) *ongoing
In Orchestra and Jazz Band (4 Years)
other smaller things...

My G.P.A. is the only thing really hurting me, but how are my chances there?

UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight reach
UCI: Match
UCD: Match
UCSB: High match

UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach-Reach
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Match

If you gpa was a bit higher i would feel more confertable calling ucsd a slight reach. ucla will be tough with your gpa, but i would deffiantly still apply. i think you are a good match for ucsb/uci/ucd.

Thanks Alot

Quikslvr1200:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCI/UCD/UCSB: Match

Yes I am, I also go to a private high school...

what about any leadership experience? That would help a lot, and consider joining some clubs. I think you really need at least a 3.7GPA to even consider UCSD, and 3.8+++ for UCLA

UCD, UCI, UCSB u should have no problem with

UCSD they use a point system, so since ur scores are good compared to their averages (idk abt avg act, but avg sat is mid low 1900s), u should have a decent chance, but it is still slightly a reach

UCLA I’m sorry but just forget it. Avg weighted gpa is 4.2
that’s higher than UCB. and ur act is barely above average
maybe if u had like a 33+ u might have a slight chance.
