UCSD highly recommends students going into a science major to take at least 2 SAT subject tests in math and a related science field. I’ve already taken chemistry and scored 770 and I’m going to take the math 2 one this saturday. I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had the time to really study for the test. How much will it hurt my chances, if any, of getting into UCSD if i get a low score (in the 600s?) on the SAT math lvl 2?? I was only planning on taking those two tests. UCSD is my top choice!!
These are my other scores/activities (I’m a senior):
GPA: 4.5 weighted, 4.0 unweighted
ACT: 34
APs: European history, Calculus, Spanish IV, Chemistry, US history, English & Composition. I scored 5s in all of these. This year I’m also taking 4 additional APs
Extracurriculars include: Mock Trial Secretary/Publicist, President of Medical Club, Academy of Visual Arts
Jobs: Paid tutor throughout the school year and I work at a restaurant during the Summer
Volunteer at: Children’s Hospital last summer, Pet adoption center throughout the school year
I also participated in Camp CHLA last summer and a fellowship for Earthwatch.
