Getting close to the time to hear from admissions and I just got my new ACT in at 28, waiting on my SAT to come back. Last SAT was 1810 and Im feeling good about this one.

I have a 3.92 UF weighted gpa, of which I have 8 AP's, 5 AICE and 8 Honors courses.

I have over 200 hours of community service, have worked and started my own business since sophomore year. Im NHS and Yearbook staff (photography committee), I hold an office in a club as a historian.
Im top 19% in a school with over 700 kids. Highly competitive high school of which many go on to highly ranked colleges. Im in the STEM program. And I believe that my essay about my hobby tied in whole application as having something to offer to UF (not athletics but it actuallyis photography)

So do I have a chance to get in there?

I have also visited twice (dont know if they care about that?)

I think you will get in.

Your ACT is probably good enough.

Are you in a good mood today floridadad? Usually you are pretty tough on us seniors trying to get into uf or fsu. :> )))

Ouch… you’re not in top 10% which could hurt your chances. 91% of the freshman in 2010 were in the top 10% of their graduating class.

nope, im not. I go to a very highly ranked school where lots go to college. We had 5 validictorians this year (sp) and all 5 had a 5.5 gpa. Pretty tough company to keep.

I just took the sat for the last time and Im hoping to improve my 1810. I had a 560w, 600m and 650w with a perfect 12 on my essay. I took this a while ago and felt very good about it … will have to wait for the 22nd to see. Anyone know what number i should shoot for to make my chances pretty good? 1900? 1950?? Doubt if Ill get higher than that…

you should aim for atleast 1950 with atleast 1250 on math + reading

That makes sense.

Writing is the part that I do the best on. I wonder if anyone even looks at it. I pulled a 12 on the essay and it is typically just ignored. On the November test, I think I did great on the essay … I used Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Gildenstern…but…no one cares.

Thanx for your input indian…maybe we will see each other at UF…
