Will upward junior year trend help?

I don’t know anything about GATECH.

USC will be a slight reach (stats are a tad low) but I think if you have good essays you will get in.

@bitensky Thanks for the chance! Chanced you back

Id agree with bitensky. Both are slight reaches, your essays are also something that should give you more hope. But Engineering is tough especially at USC Viterbi. chance me please:

Oh but dornsife, so higher chances! Essays, that’s it

@persia5 Thanks! Do you know if there is an “easier” major I can apply to within Dornsife to increase my chances of acceptance into USC as a whole? Like would applying Undecided help?

Would applying Undeclared help me get in?

NO

Don’t do undecided, it just looks like this kid isn’t confident(if you have to, then don’t stress) But do you care what school you go to for 4 years of your life or what you have learned and add on to/ study for your whole life??

If you like to do the first choice(not recommended): apply as a agriculture degree. In fact you might be a farmer with a Harvard degree!(Exaggeration, agriculture can get complicated with ingenuity). But you get the idea.

Thanks for the explanation looking for more opinions!

Bump

USC is a reach for you. Your SAT is a bit low and your GPA is even more.

Thanks! @uclaparent9

I’m not sure about Georgia Tech, but I think that USC would be on the higher end of a target for you. It’ll depend on your essays I think. Good luck! Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1839483-chance-me.html#latest

Hey there is a GA Tech EA applicants 2020 thread. You can look at other EA applicant profiles there.

USC might be a little reach, but a girl from my inner-city-ish school got in with a average-higher GPA like yours, so if you write really strong essays, you might have a chance! GAT shouldn’t be a problem. Chance me!

Reach, that gpa is hard to overlook

GTech - Reach (GPA, ECs and Rigor of Secondary courses are considered very Imp).

Mid 50% SAT

GTech (includes 70% in-state, so should be higher for OOS)

SAT - 2060-2250
Math - 690-790
CR - 680-770
W - 650-730

USC

SAT - 2040-2260
Math - 680-780
CR - 650-750
W - 670-770

I agree that both are very slight reaches to high matches. You will probably get into at least one of them, most likely USC over GA tech  I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you, and I wish you the best of luck!
