Judging from your grades, I’d say your GPA is around 3.7-3.8, which is pretty good and puts you in range to be accepted. However, your SAT is very low for highly selective schools, so that will definitely hurt you more than help you. I wouldn’t recommend sending those scores because your ACT is good. Unfortunately, your EC’s seem fairly typical. Leadership is a nice highlight, but I don’t see anything that particularly stands out. You also have no hooks. I’d say apply, but your chances are very thin as they are for everyone. Writing really strong essays will be key for you. Good luck!

It would help if we could see your ranking, and gpa, but by the looks of it, your gpa seems ok, not extraordinary or anything, and your act is great, but it seems like maybe, you’re lacking a bit on the extra curricular activities. Looking at it, it is sort of hard to pinpoint a mistake… it’s not bad. It’s just not eye-catching, you know? That’s the sort of thing competitive schools like UPenn and NYU want. Your ACT does make up for it a bit. And also, some schools require SAT subject tests, so you might want to look into that before it is too late. Overall, good app, just not excellent. Once again, not trying to say it’s bad… You have a decent chance at these schools, and just try to get those SAT subject tests done before you send out apps.

Would appreciate it if you could chance me back, too! http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1657077-what-colleges-do-you-think-i-am-qualified-for.html#latest

is it Stern/Wharton or CAS

Based on your statistics, which are similar to mine, I would say that your chances at NYU are pretty good (match-high match), while UPenn remains a high reach. However, do not become discouraged; college admissions continue to be more and more tricky, and you never know what could happen! Best of luck!

Your leadership position is good.
Maybe seize one more this senior year if you can?
Your grades seem great and that ACT really pops out.
Do not send you SAT and your ACT is good enough for no retake.
This summer, or whatever is left of it, study up on subject tests. Study the ones you have taken AP classes for, These probably aren’t required by either school if you submit your ACT + Writing but WILL give you an edge. Aim for 700+ or 750+ on at least 2 subject tests! Preferably ones in your major!

You have a decent chance for NYU, but UPenn is a reach for anyone. Every Ivy is regardless even if you get a perfect ACT and SAT. Like kitts95 said, admissions are really random these days. Your essays will ultimately guide you into admissions. Make sure you have enough planning and writing and revising. As soon as the common app opens up in August, everything will be a rush until the submission date in Nov.

I actually did visit both NYU and UPenn.
I can tell you off the bat the NYU is a very unique campus as it borders the beautiful Washington Square park and is open gated to heart of NYC. You probably already know all of this though haha. UPenn also is very beautiful with it’s architecture and location near philly.

May I ask you what other schools you plan to apply to?

Good luck!!
Chance me?
