Chances for usc marshall business school?

Alright guys, I'm coming up as a third year transfer student at Orange Coast College and I'm planning to hit up USC in the fall of 2006. I'm almost done with everything except a few classes which are:

Calc 1
Foreign language
Science + lab
Second semester accounting

I tried taking calc this summer but its too much work for a guy that hasn't taken calc yet so I'm gonna take it this fall.

My current gpa is 3.82 going into these classes. I'm a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma which I'm sure can only help since the USC app specifically asks for this. I've been also on the deans/presidents/honors yadda yadda yadda list(s). What do you think my chances are at Marshall? If I happen to drop calc again and take it again in the spring, will I be able to still transfer in the fall 06? Also should I seriously consider a lot of EC/volunteer work etc to improve my shot? (Btw this is the only school I'm applying to so when I mean my shot, its my ONLY SHOT, I could go to UCLA as well but I'd have to take calc 2, no thanks :P)

Thanks.

ur stats look solid. if u complete all the pre reqs and maintain at least a 3.6 gpa, u will be competitive. yea do a few major pertaining ec's and u should have a good shot

You dont need a foreign language for marshall

your gpa is good though, just maintain it. as far as ec's go, I dont think they weigh them heavily. I was just admitted and have no ec's besides a part-time job.

Domino, would you mind sharing your stats? I'm thinking about transfering to USC's Marshall as well.

Thanks.

3.81 gpa, decent essay.
60 units, all pre-req's done

You need calc 2 to be an econ business major for ucla?? I don't think assist.org ever said it was necessary... ?

Yeah you need calc 2.

i think you should be fine with taking calc in the spring, many transfer students are asked for their spring grades before a final decision is made, and many on this board have been admitted as junior level transfers after sending in their 4th semester (spring) grades into USC (including me). just do well in that calc course with a B or better preferably, and you'll definitely have a chance. as for the ECs, i had a lot of ECs and i guess i'll never know wether or not that tipped me over, but im sure they'll help you more than hurt you. I also had (IMO) a good essay, and i do believe that the essay and short answers are very important. i had a 3.8 GPA at CSUF in political science. good luck to you

It's a shoe in, Moss
